Homes in the Park
The west end of the Park has some of the oldest and densest housing on the east side, including two-family flats and rental property that changed hands during the last decade. Owner-occupied flats, rentals and condos each need a different policy form, and a house that becomes a rental needs a change before the tenant moves in. Toward the lake, replacement cost and seawall questions take over.
Water
The Park was among the hardest hit in the 2021 sewer backup events. Water backup coverage, backflow valves and sump systems come up on nearly every home review here, and carriers ask about them.
Businesses on Kercheval and Charlevoix
The Park’s restaurant row and the shops along Kercheval and Charlevoix are hospitality, retail and service businesses — liquor liability, business income and workers’ comp for restaurants; property, liability and cyber for shops and offices. Landlords along the strip need commercial property and premises liability.
